Explanation of my blog name

Friday, March 3, 2017

When I started creating my blog, the first thing I started thinking about was the blog title.  I was actually laying in bed one night, and it just came to me that I should pray for God to give me a blog title.  It kind of seemed silly at the time, but no prayer is too small for God! 5 minutes later, I had the title “More Than Rubies” in my head, and it just stuck!

It came from two different verses in Proverbs: Proverbs 3:15 & Proverbs 31:10.

Proverbs 3:15 “She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”

Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.”prov31

The “she” in Proverbs 3:15 is referring to Wisdom. The two verses before help explain the context. ” (13) Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, (14) for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.”-Proverbs 3:13-14

Proverbs 31:10 is a verse about the virtuous, Proverbs 31 woman. “Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.”

Both these verses portray exactly what my aspirations are for this blog. My goal is to inspire and empower women to become her best self!  Through my lifestyle & beauty blogs, I hope women are inspired to step out of their shell and really embrace who God made them to be.

Don’t be ashamed of what your Master has created in you.  You are His masterpiece, and He doesn’t make junk!  Whatever your calling is, step out in faith and embrace it with all you have.  The fact you still have air in your lungs means God has a specific purpose for you that is unfinished. He needs you specifically for whatever that is!  No one else can do what God has called YOU to do.

Love you, sisters!

XOXO
