There is NOTHING I love more than a trip to the beach–especially when it’s 30 degrees and flurries back home. I am getting ready to head to Gulf Shores, Alabama next week. Check out my preparation routine and what I do to get ready the week before!

I probably start a week prior just because I’m THAT excited to leave!

Go to the salon and have my hair colored (usually blonde)!

I take lots of pictures while I’m on vacation. The last thing I want are my roots to be showing in all my pictures and my hair looking dull. This is usually the first thing I do about a week prior to leaving. This really gets me excited and makes the week before not draaaaaggggg oooonnn so bad!

Get my fingernails painted with Shellac.

Because I’ll be in salt water and in the sand, I usually like to get my nails just manicured and painted with Shellac. Shellac is the BOMB and won’t chip no matter what! I used to get bright pink ALL THE TIME. However, I’ve tried toning it down and sticking with a nude color that’s not as obnoxious. 🙂
Get a pedicure.

My favorite thing to do before a trip is to get a pedicure! There is nothing more relaxing to me than sitting in the massage chairs while they make my feet pretty. I usually always go for a hot pink color!
Get a spray tan!

I always feel better when I’m super tan! Before I get my tan, I shave my legs and exfoliate my whole body. This will help with not getting splotchy spots in dry areas. I also will freshly wash my hair, too. The longer you can put off taking a shower after you get your tan, the better! And of course, the more moisturized you keep your skin, the longer the tan lasts!

I’ve been going here in Owasso for the last couple of years! They have a Versa Spa spray tan machine, and it works great!!
Go shopping!

Lastly, I love to shop for new swim suits and beach wear! I usually will buy a new pair of sunglasses and flip flops. Big floppy hats are fun to buy, too! Shopping for beach accessories is my one of my favorite things to do! It really gets me super excited for my upcoming trip. Of course, I can wear all these things in the upcoming summer, too!
